ABOUT US

Welcome!

We are a member of the Baptist Missions Association of America (BMAA).  Our focus is missions, reaching the lost for Christ.

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and inerrant in the original writings.

  • We believe that there is one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe that the lost and sinful man must be saved, and that man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

  • We believe in and practice the holy ordinance of water baptism, which signifies the believer's death, burial, and resurrection into new life with Christ Jesus, and the regular celebration of Holy Communion as commanded by our Lord.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved; those that are saved into the resurrection of life and those that are unsaved into the resurrection of damnation.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Many blessings to you,

Pastor Jon Sparlin

The goal of Cornerstone Baptist Church is to follow what God says.

In order to accomplish this-

1.) We strongly desire to present the Word of God as the only world view to be considered.  Psa 119:11; John 17:17

2.) We will present God’s Word as He disclosed it. We will exhaust every expository means available to understand what the Biblical authors meant when they were originally inspired to write it. Not just from from the pulpit, but from each one of us who evangelize. Hebrews 14:12

3.) Because God does not alter His Gospel to fit the era, culture, or age of the hearer, we will present God as He revealed Himself in Scripture. We will strive to know nothing and reveal nothing but the Truth according to His Word. Romans 1:16-23

4.) Although He calls us friends and we can associate with Him as “Abba”, we understand that He is still the Creator and sustainer of all things and should only be considered in the highest esteem. Malachi 1:6-11

5.) Because prayer is the expression of our relationship with God, we will communicate our praise, adoration, thanksgiving, and the presentation of our requests; and will look for His response to be primarily through His Word and the revelation of His promises. Colossians 4:2-6

6.) Obedience and the surrender of our will to His is not an option. Since He is Lord, there is no other alternative but to submit to His authority. We strive to heed His instructions to be more like His Son. We understand that all of us, regardless of age, talents, social status, or intelligence have been purposely assigned to this Church at this time for a specific reason. Romans 8:29;Ephesians 4:11-16, 24

7.) We will look for all divinely appointed pastors and deacons to adhere to the standards given in 1 Tim 3and Titus 2. All leadership, be it teachers, musicians, and lay-ministers consider themselves available when God speaks. 2 Cor 6:3-10

8.) We will be ready at any time for God to reveal either a means to serve in the community and/or begin a new independent Church nationally or internationally. Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8

9.) We resolve to be sensitive to the needs of others. We seek those in need and try to do what we can to fulfill why God placed them before us. We endeavor to enhance the worship experience inside as well as outside the doors of our Church to all we meet. John 13:34-35
